Bio/Description

As director of the Office of Technology Licensing, John oversees the protection and licensing of software and inventions created at Princeton University. His responsibilities include triaging invention disclosures, negotiating confidentiality, liaising with patent attorneys, and overseeing the distribution of income generated by intellectual property in accordance with the University patent policy as well as government compliance relating to patents and software. Additionally, John serves as secretary of the Review Panel on Conflict of Interest in Research. 

John has served as a technology licensing professional at the University for 15 years. Prior to coming to Princeton, he worked as a senior licensing professional at Rutgers University and held various sales and marketing positions in industry. He holds a B.S. in engineering from Rutgers University, an M.B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and a J.D. with Honors from Rutgers School of Law. A registered patent attorney, he is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
